welcome to the art patio!

Art on Somedays 2021 was a project born to support myself and others in a regular art practice. It encouraged casual art-doers (even and especially the staunchest “I’m not an artist” among us) to create and submit an original piece of art weekly. Those submissions were posted to this blog. Here, art’s purpose is play, levity, and practice.

Inspiration for this project was drawn from sources including:

1. A friend who told me about their music-making for a project called “Music Every Week”

2. The Attic Institute’s “Creating a Writer's Notebook: Artifact and Mulch with Wendy Willis” class

3. Linda Barry’s book, “Syllabus”

4. A University of Iowa “Life Design” course featuring Dan Eldon’s story
